The WMAP observations of the cosmic microwave background suggest that the shape of the Universe is that of the Poincare dodecahedral space. The red and blue curves show the location and amplitude of temperature fluctuations in nearly opposite parts of the sky. As expected by the hypothesis, these temperature fluctuations seem to have nearly equal values, even though they come from oppose parts of the sky.
