The application form is open now! >> Crosslinks of Early Universe Cosmology, from 15 July – 2 August 2024 >> Organized by Julia Harz (JGU Mainz), Carlos Tamarit (JGU Mainz), and Felix Yu (JGU Mainz). The registration deadline is 25 March 2024. >> Abstract: The MITP Summer School 2024 on "Crosslinks of Early Universe Cosmology" will feature internationally recognized scientists giving lectures focusing on the exciting developments and interdisciplinary research in early universe cosmology. Lecture topics will include in-depth reviews of the cosmological history of the universe and thermal field theory, as well as overviews of the state of the art of dark matter research, neutrino physics, gravitational waves, baryogenesis and leptogenesis, indirect detection and multimessenger physics, and specialized topics such as phase transitions and non-standard cosmological relics.The school is aimed at advanced graduate students in theoretical physics specializing in particle physics and/or cosmology. We expect to accommodate ~50 students from around the world at the Erbacher Hof in downtown Mainz. The registration fee will include shared-room housing at the Erbacher Hof, full board for the weekdays and breakfast on weekends, as well as a selection of group and touristic activities in the Mainz region. Lecturers will also be housed at the Erbacher Hof, ensuring a dynamic environment for students to engage with peers and senior physicists. Our school is dedicated to PhD students and postdocs conducting research in general relativity. The summer school will be divided into two parts: the first will be held at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw from July 24-29, and the second at the European Center for Geological Education in Chęciny from July 31-August 4. Bus transportation from Warsaw to Chęciny will be provided for all the participants. We are also pleased to present the lecturers that will be conducted during the first part of the school: - Abhay Ashtekar: Gravitational waves: interplay between mathematical foundations and observations, - Rod Gover: Conformal and related techniques for applications in GR, - Ruth Gregory: On the Nature and Mathematics of Black Holes, - Piotr Jaranowski: Post-Newtonian General Relativity and Gravitational Waves, - Adam Pound: Self-force theory and the gravitational two-body problem, - Olivier Sarbach: Particle motion and dynamics of a Vlasov gas in the exterior of a Kerr black hole, The program for the second part of the school will be announced in the near future. Registration will start soon. The conference fee will be: EUR 50 for the first part of the school (the coffee breaks covered) EUR 200 for the second part (the bus Warsaw-Chęciny-Warsaw, full board, accommodation) The organizers are making efforts to raise additional funds to cover the cost of participation for some participants who do not have their own funds.
