witam cosmo-torun (1) Research workshop! title: Another way to select comoving 3-space speaker: boud when/where: Friday 15.00 godz. 20.11.2009 @KRA. This topic will be different to my Monday KRA seminar. My Monday talk is about stuff on ArXiv.org and already peer-reviewed. Friday is for research-under-progress presentation/discussion - that's the idea, after all. (2) We have to announce FNiS2010 (science festival) proposals by Monday 23 Nov!!! Anyone interested in us doing something together, please speak up quickly, and we can briefly discuss it on Friday face-to-face (or tomorrow Thurs @KRA). Moriond 2010 Cosmology Dear colleague, The next Rencontres de Moriond meeting devoted to Cosmology will be organized in La Thuile (Valle d'Aosta, Italy), March 13-20, 2008. There was big blog rumour about this - the significance is still low, but the results look cool to me. :) LDM and DAMA/LIBRA/CDMS particles will probably have to co-exist. cfalib: we should get Krasinski - Inhomogeneous Cosmological Models

Hi Karolina, Could we please put: Inhomogeneous Cosmological Models Andrzej Krasinski Cambridge University Press 1997 ISBN 978-0521481809 on our list of priority books whenever there's some budget money that needs to be spent? (Sometimes at the end of the year there is money that will be lost if it doesn't get spent.) It seems we don't have this book anywhere in the UMK library system. The Universe is certainly inhomogeneous - UMK would not exist if the Universe were perfectly homogeneous (since LSS and galaxies and planets would not exist). The question is not *if* the Universe is inhomogeneous, the question is *how important* the inhomogeneity is, i.e. to what degree assuming a perfectly homogeneous model and then adding perturbations is a good enough approximation to reality. pozdr boud
